Module 1: Biofeedback Definitions and Important Concepts

We organized this course to take you step by step through the important concepts of biofeedback, but you may access these materials in any order you desire. We believe the first thing to understand is what biofeedback is all about. Then learn the important concepts pertaining to biofeedback. We've combined these two things into our first teaching module.

Module 2: Types of Biofeedback Equipment

Once you have an understanding of the biofeedback process and intended uses, the next important thing to understand is the kinds of biofeedback devices used in the industry. Keep in mind most practitioners specialize in one or two biofeedback modalities. Very few use several different or all of the commonly available modalities. Some biofeedback approaches such as quantum biofeedback, bioresonance and neurotherapy require more knowledge than others. Thus, practitioners tend to specialize in one of these areas and not use other approaches.

Module 3: Biofeedback Training Sessions-How Biofeedback is Performed

Now that you have a basic understanding of what biofeedback is and the types of biofeedback equipment available, your next step is to learn about biofeedback training sessions. The biofeedback training session begins when you escort your client into your biofeedback room. The session ends when you conduct your client back out of your biofeedback room. Everything between your initial greeting and final farewell is the biofeedback training session.

Your assignment is to write a paper about one or more biofeedback devices. In this paper you are to describe what the equipment is and what it does. Then you are to explain how you will personally use this device in your business and what you will help your clients accomplish. Send this assignment by mail or email to our offices. Module 4: Other Complimentary Therapies

Biofeedback practitioners often desire to offer other services as part of their biofeedback practice. Naturopaths, homeopaths, nutritionists and other professionals often desire to offer biofeedback as part of their practice. There are pitfalls to avoid and things to do if you decide to do either.

Final Examination

When you're done with all four modules, please take the practice examination to determine how well you understood this material. This test will cover only the basic biofeedback skills discussed in this course material. Experience has taught us this practice test is a good study guide for taking a certification examination. But in addition to this study guide you also need to review professional ethics, professional networking, coaching, informed consent forms and codes of professional ethics.

If you'd like to know how you did on this practice test, please read the answers and explanations given here. If you did poorly, we recommend you study the areas where you were weak and take the test a second or even a third time. This is practice to help you pass the certification examination you choose to take.

Three Recommendations

  1. Attain credibility by becoming certified or licensed in your profession. The highest credibility you can attain is to become licensed in your profession and certified in all the healing modalities you use in your profession. Decide what license and certifications you wish to attain and go after them energetically and purposefully. We recommend NTCB and FSHLB or any other accredited certification board.

  2. Protect your assets. The more professional you become the higher your risk of loosing everything through a mistake, an act of nature or an unforeseen accident. Protecting your assets and livelihood is not only prudent; it's a normal cost of doing business. Join an association that offers you the best insurance available at the lowest possible cost. We recommend The Natural Therapies (TNTANA) and Biofeedback (BANA) associations as places to start your investigation.

  3. Advertise and market yourself. The best advertising you can obtain at any price is word of mouth advertising provided by your clients. Make a real effort to be a professional person who treats clients very well. Surprisingly, the second best marketing approach is to be visible in the community in a service or spiritual organization, have a good Web, hand out a lot of business cards with only your name, professional designation, contact information and URL dominant and offer a free consultation.

    By far the best consultation is a coaching session lasting about 20 to 30 minutes. use the basic techniques you will learn in the biofeedback coaching workshop. Empower your clients to identify their own problems. Empower your clients to decide how to resolve their own issues. Empower your client to heal themselves. You will become their healing coach by ending the consultation with a simple request: Let me show you how to heal yourself. However they respond set an appointment for their first healing session.
